Time flies by...

I flew a kite for two hours on Friday. I ate for four hours at the World's Fair where I also saw Jenn fan dance as part of Choom! I danced for two hours at the MECA Girl's Party and also ate nutella on grahman crackers (yum!). I watched the Asia Night opening ceremony with a fashion show and a Sitara dance drama of the Ramayana and ate Korean food. I watched The Skin of Our Teeth for three hours. We stayed out for 4 hours for Nasheet's birthday and I made another Bengali "bondhu." I watched a Chinese film for 2 hours called Blind Shaft --- aptly described as "descending into the pits of humanity" by Rims.

After an extremely busy weekend, I realize that this is the last week of my undergraduate classes at Cornell. I had my last Scars and Bars class discussion; I am glad that I worked up the courage to take this class. Sure, it was a discussion class. Yeah, it was about Southeast Asia, of which I had known nothing about before this semester. Sure, there were only 5 people in the class. But damn, I enjoyed it. I read 10 memoirs this semester. Ten stories of survival. Ten harrowing tales of inspiration. Ten lives of people whom I will probably never meet, but whom I respect for their courage to tell their traumatic experiences. I cried, I laughed, I learned. Oh, I am getting misty-eyed again...

Sheila and I began her mini-training for the SI Basketball Tournament that she will be participating in this Saturday. So far, it's going well. Not that I am surprised; after all, it IS Sheila. Her natural adeptness at sports is evident.
